Lending a Hand Miscellaneous

Lending a Hand
089/2721 August 25, 2003

This is a robotic arm that was being evaluated for use in dispensing prescriptions. Unfortunately, although it looked pretty darn cool, it never really worked well or as fast as the model already in use.

Captain Spaulding -- Front Bumper
087/2669 August 08, 2003

The Captain's sporty bumper from ARB. One of these days, we'll have to get around to getting a winch, mounting a hi-lift type jack, and adding some lights.

Come on in! House and Home

Come on in!
085/2605 August 01, 2003

Here is the storage shed, ready to be filled with everything in our two storage lockers. While it wasn't cheap ($400 at Costco), but it paid for itself in short order from the savings on the locker rentals.

Ta-Da! House and Home

Ta-Da!
085/2604 August 01, 2003

John and I managed to put this storage building together in only a couple of hours. Had I tried it on my own, it would have taken days and it's unlikely it would still be standing today, two years later (which it is.)

Secret Passage House and Home

Secret Passage
084/2577 July 26, 2003

Behind our bedroom wall lies a secret passage. It turns left and continues at least as far as the front of the house. There is a similar passage on the other side of the house as well. You can see where the opening is behind our bedroom wall, just to the left of the light fixture.

Bare Wall House and Home

Bare Wall
084/2575 July 26, 2003

Older homes often need a bit of mending. If the lath and plaster develops a crack, then no amount of repainting will make the visible crack disappear. The wall of our bedroom had some pretty serious cracks as well as staining from roof leaks. So it came down to be replaced by more modern drywall.

Over Extended
081/2487 July 20, 2003

Alas, sometimes the whole "cool" image can be spoiled by a little faux pas -- such as sleeping sideways with one's feet hanging out the side (leaving one to be simply cute.)
