Captain Spaulding, our 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series II, hit the trail for the first time since we got him (and probably in his entire life) at the Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area.

Samson got his name from a previous trip upon which he towed me, Rachel, our stuff, and Indy, our 109" miles through the brush after we not only broke an axle, but a tie rod as well.

The park rangers at Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area used, in 2002 at least, a Land Rover Discovery Series II. I snapped a nice shot of it on our way into the park.
