We have a small set of Brio type trains that we keep packed up for travel. They come in really handy sometimes, like this evening during a trip to Lake Tahoe.

This is a big open field on the west side of highway 267, near Lake Tahoe. The field itself isn't all that interesting, but if you head for the other side, there's a great little hill for sledding with younger kids and an area for building snowmen and the like. This is one of our favorite spots in the area.

We stopped off at Boomtown which has a small merry-go-round and a decent video arcade. Js enjoyed this truck driving game -- the nice thing about a two-year-old is that the demo mode is just fine; there's no need to actually put quarters in the machine.

Because it was Presidents' Day, the local newsmedia was on hand to capture the news of kids having fun at the Children's Museum. He asked if he could video Js, and I said yes, but told him that turnabout is fair play -- I took his picture.
