Take your pants off, ladies!
"Some of the women have been wearing their pants so long that some of the men have forgotten their identity. It's time the men put their pants back on," said Ronald Goodwin of Alexandria.
This is the mentality that opposes a bill allowing same-sex couples to marry in New Hampshire. Not only should gays and lesbians be denied the same rights as others, but women need to remember their place -- presumably barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen and certainly not wearing pants.
Meanwhile, just in case you've lost count, here are the statistics as they currently stand:
- Number of states that offer marriage equality:
- 4 (MA, CT, VT, IA)
- Number of states moving toward marriage equality:
- 3 (NH, NY, NJ)
- Number of states that did and then retreated to the dark ages:
- 1 (CA)
- Number of states that allow gay marriage and have been reduced to rubble by the almighty:
- 0
- Percentage increase of pirate and/or ninja attacks in states that allow gay marriage:
- 0%
- Percentage increase of giant monsters destroying states that allow gay marriage:
- 0%
- Percentage increase in plagues of locusts, frogs, or other pests in states that allow gay marriage:
- 0%
- Number of states that maintain the sanctity of marriage by not allowing divorce:
- 0
Mind you, I don't believe at all in God, Judeo-Christian or otherwise, but if I did, I think these statistics, plus the fact that places like Canada are doing just fine, would show pretty darn conclusively that He simply just doesn't care about gay marriage. So if you've got your panties in a bunch, perhaps you ought to step back and see what your issues are because your God clearly doesn't have a problem with it.

Journal Description
My life is, to me, ripe with frequent challenges, occasional successes, spontaneous laughter, adequate tears, and enough *life* to last me a lifetime. To you, however, it surely seems most pedestrian. And therefore, I recycle the name I used previously and call this my Notebooks of Daily Life. Daily, because it's everyday in nature, ordinary. These conglomeration of events that are my life are of interest to me because I live it, perhaps mildly so to those who are touched by it, and could only be of perverse, morbid curiosity to anyone else. Yet, I offer them here nonetheless. Make of them what you will, and perhaps you can learn from my mistakes.
