Introduction My life is, to me, ripe with frequent challenges, occasional successes, spontaneous laughter, adequate tears, and enough *life* to last me a lifetime. To you, however, it surely seems most pedestrian. And therefore, I recycle the name I used previously and call this my Notebooks of Daily Life. Daily, because it's everyday in nature, ordinary. These conglomeration of events that are my life are of interest to me because I live it, perhaps mildly so to those who are touched by it, and could only be of perverse, morbid curiosity to anyone else. Yet, I offer them here nonetheless. Make of them what you will, and perhaps you can learn from my mistakes. Sinasohn.Net

Thursday, June 29, 2006 In case you're wondering what I've been up to (I know, you weren't, but then what the hell are you doing here anyway?), I've got a new gig. I'm now writing for Blogging Baby. Yep, you can now find the other half of my wit over there. It doesn't mean I've given up on this journal, mind you. Writing for Blogging Baby has some advantages, however. First, it pays. Not a huge amount, certainly nowhere near enough to quit my day job, but enough to help out. It also makes quite a few things deductible that wouldn't otherwise be. Most importantly, however, it may help give me credibility towards getting a couple of books published. So, now you get to read my idiotic ramblings in two places!
"Daddy, go cook." -- Jared, commenting on my rhythmic movement skills when I tried to dance with him while barbequeing.
"No kids, only people?" -- Jared, clarifying the rules on who can use the really hot pool.
"but you like my poo-poo!" -- Jared trying to convince me to come see what he's done in the potty.
"You're just stuffing that in there? That is so un-neat!" -- Rachel, commenting on my packing style.
Jared has been pooping in the potty regularly now for two weeks, so today he got to go to the movies with his Nana and his cousin. I went along in case he got scared or needed to go to the bathroom during the movie. We went to see Cars, the latest from John Lasseter and Pixar. If you know anything about animation, you know that first name means it was probably going to be pretty good.
I Love Vacations. I Hate Vacations.
One of the challenges of living in San Francisco is that you never want to leave. If you do, you are bound to miss something. Other places maybe have one or two or ten big events each year; it's easy to plan around them. In San Francisco, there's something great going on every freaking day!
I thought I would take a moment and respond to some of the comments I've received as of late. If you haven't commented, this may be of no interest to you, but then again, I can't imagine that anything here would be of any interest to anyone, so there you go.
"I don't feel so good. My tummy is bubbly. Maybe I need to go to the hospital so's I can get a heartbeat." -- Jared, feeling a little under the weather. "Can all my friends come home with me?" -- Jared, pondering what to do after the last-day-of-school picnic.
High School Educates Students; Parents Outraged
A lot of people think that Texas should be a separate country. I'm beginning to think they belong on their own planet.
