Uncle Roger's Notebooks of Daily Life

Introduction

My life is, to me, ripe with frequent challenges, occasional successes, spontaneous laughter, adequate tears, and enough *life* to last me a lifetime. To you, however, it surely seems most pedestrian. And therefore, I recycle the name I used previously and call this my Notebooks of Daily Life. Daily, because it's everyday in nature, ordinary. These conglomeration of events that are my life are of interest to me because I live it, perhaps mildly so to those who are touched by it, and could only be of perverse, morbid curiosity to anyone else. Yet, I offer them here nonetheless. Make of them what you will, and perhaps you can learn from my mistakes.

Don't Forget to Breathe

It seems to me that some people are so busy talking that oxygen can't get past the hot air flowing out of their mouths and their brains start to deteriorate from oxygen deprivation. I think a lot of people would be a lot better off if they would just shut up for a while and listen to what others have to say.

Ummm, yeah...
Good luck with that. The blow hards of the world aren't going to shut up unless someone makes them shut up. That's been my experience anyways! Another way of dealing with them is to ignore them, but depending on where they are on the socio-political scale someone will still listen, which is regrettable.

Ignoring ignoramouses

The problem with ignoring them is that then they go off and do stuff that screws things up for the rest of us. I'd happily ignore the religious right, if only they would ignore me.
