New Blosxom Plugin - fmtcat

I've created a new plugin for Blosxom. I wrote this primarily for use with my photos, but it may be of interest to others.

Basically, fmtcat provides you with a formatted category string. You have a number of formatting options, including:

  • Capitalize the first letter of category names
  • Insert a user defined spacer (such as ">" or "-") between levels of categorization
  • Prepend a top-level category name (such as "Home" or "Top")
  • Substitute user defined category descriptions for directory names at each level of categorization
  • Turn each category name/description into a link to a category-level-specific journal page

For more details, see the comments in the plugin itself; it's reasonably well documented. If you have any questions or suggestions, or if you find any unexpected "features", please let me know.

You can download fmtcat and tableit, the other plugin I wrote. I would love to hear about it if you use either plugin.

Journal Description

My life is, to me, ripe with frequent challenges, occasional successes, spontaneous laughter, adequate tears, and enough *life* to last me a lifetime. To you, however, it surely seems most pedestrian. And therefore, I recycle the name I used previously and call this my Notebooks of Daily Life. Daily, because it's everyday in nature, ordinary. These conglomeration of events that are my life are of interest to me because I live it, perhaps mildly so to those who are touched by it, and could only be of perverse, morbid curiosity to anyone else. Yet, I offer them here nonetheless. Make of them what you will, and perhaps you can learn from my mistakes.
