Uncle Roger's Notebooks of Daily Life

Introduction

My life is, to me, ripe with frequent challenges, occasional successes, spontaneous laughter, adequate tears, and enough *life* to last me a lifetime. To you, however, it surely seems most pedestrian. And therefore, I recycle the name I used previously and call this my Notebooks of Daily Life. Daily, because it's everyday in nature, ordinary. These conglomeration of events that are my life are of interest to me because I live it, perhaps mildly so to those who are touched by it, and could only be of perverse, morbid curiosity to anyone else. Yet, I offer them here nonetheless. Make of them what you will, and perhaps you can learn from my mistakes.

Alien Fury
Okay, so last night was Stargate Night -- it's the night that new episodes are shown during the season. Out of season, they'll play a re-run at the same time. Last night, however, they pre-empted the usual re-run to show the movie Alien Fury. Since I was cleaning the living room anyway, I figured I'd go ahead and check it out, especially since Chyna was in it and I remembered her from a particularly funny episode of Whose Line.

Sara's Steps

Almost everyday, Sara has been getting closer and closer to walking. Today, again, she took a step without holding on and the other day, reportedly, she took two steps to get to her nana. Pretty soon, she'll be walking like a pro and then there'll be no stopping her.

Commentary

I've decided to turn comments back on after taking some minor steps to combat the comment spammers. I'm not going to specify them here since I don't want to give the bastards what they need to get around the fix.

Note that what I've done is very minor, not hard to get around, and I may have to turn the comments off again at a moment's notice. Not that anyone cares, but you have been warned.

Moving up the Food Chain

Sara has started eating more real food. She loves rice, especially that which we get from the taqueria, and this morning has been chowing down on scrambled eggs like there's not tomorrow.

Of course, her favorite food is fresh milk -- and I mean fresh. She's also taken to eating ham. We haven't given her much lengua yet, but soon, she'll start eating that.

Jared has graduated from Lengua tacos (finger food) with a side of rice and beans to a lengua burrito just like daddy's.
